Cathy was a woman whose presence could not be overlooked. Known for her beauty, selflessness, loyalty, and fiercely protective nature, she carried a strong spirit paired with a gentle and compassionate heart. While she could be stubborn at times, it was that same determination that made her a fighter—someone who never backed down from life’s challenges and always stood firmly for those she loved.
Throughout her life, Cathy served as a source of encouragement, warmth, and wisdom. Whether through kind words, unwavering support, or quiet acts of love, she left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elwood Wayne Brown, as well as her parents, Edd Lee McCreary Jr. and Nona Sue McCreary. Despite these losses, Cathy remained a pillar of strength for her family.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her children Patricia Thacker (Steven), Debra Baumann (Phillip), and Kenneth Brown (Crystal); her brothers Ed McCreary and Michael McCreary; and a large circle of grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members, including her niece Katie McCreary Warren.
Cathy’s greatest accomplishments were not measured in material success, but in the love she gave so freely and the strong family foundation she built. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion—qualities that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later time. A celebration of Cathy’s life will serve as a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable woman she was and the enduring impact she leaves behind.
