Family members, friends, and members of the Manor community are mourning the tragic loss of 23-year-old Jennifer Hernandez, who was killed early Sunday morning in a devastating two-vehicle collision on FM 973 in Travis County.
According to the Manor Police Department, officers responded to the 11700 block of North FM 973 Road at approximately 3:58 a.m. on June 21, 2026, following an automated crash alert. When officers arrived, they discovered two heavily damaged vehicles and multiple victims suffering from critical and life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders from ATCEMS and Travis County Emergency Services District No. 12 arrived shortly after and provided urgent medical assistance at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that Hernandez, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her vehicle was carrying three passengers, including two young children.
Officials reported that an 11-month-old child suffered critical injuries and required immediate lifesaving efforts before being transported to a local hospital, where the child remains in critical condition. A second child, approximately two years old, was also transported with life-threatening injuries. An adult male passenger in the vehicle sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and is receiving medical care.
The driver of the second vehicle was reportedly trapped inside following the collision and had to be extricated by fire personnel. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have not yet released details regarding what led to the crash, and the cause remains under active investigation. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office Highway Enforcement and Accident Team, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
